Home of the Week: The Fletcher

The Fletcher is a relevant take on the cottage with a thoughtful footprint. This home is a residential symbol of the pledge to a more sustainable way of practicing the design craft. Space should be intentionally occupied for the fullness of living with minimal excessiveness.

At 1740 square feet, this home is an example of how form, function and comfort can and should coexist. Inside walls and trim serve as a clean canvas to differentiate the strokes of heavier, darker materials and finishes. The midcentury modern-inspired furnishings paired with eclectic décor feel like the finest frame to encase an arguably moody masterpiece. Combining thoughtful residential planning with state-of-the-art amenities, retail, and commercial, Wendell Falls stakes its rightful claim as the forerunner of smart urbanization.

Judges’ Comments | The first impression is a well-proportioned exterior—simple, but clean, with a clear attention to detail. The design is very efficient. Even for a smaller space, the plan lives well and the spaces feel comfortable.
