The client wanted a home for informal entertainment both indoors and out, centered around enjoying the pool area, easy access to the boat at their private dock, and enjoying the preparation of food and dining, along with a great selection of wines.
One enters the home in an all-glass gallery with views of the resort-like zero edge pool and the Intracoastal Waterway beyond. To the west of the gallery are the public spaces of the home; to the east is the spacious owners’suite. Nearly all rooms have windows on two or three sides for great indoor/outdoor connectivity.
The site originally sloped down toward a rip-rap edge at the water. A retaining wall was built near the water’s edge and fill was brought in, creating a much larger usable outdoor room for the pool, spa, and outdoor sitting areas.
