This home was designed from scratch as a handcrafted, post-and-beam log home. In addition to the large-diameter round logs that form the majority of the structure, key areas include enormous cedar logs (trees) to create an even bigger impact. These three posts are located in the heart of the home and are a central focus from many vantage points on the main level and second floor. The structural strength of these logs also help create the cathedral-sized, central corridor that spans the entryway to the great room. The lower sections of the logs also help define the boundaries between the entryway and great room, and the dining room and hallway.
