Surrounded by the Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque, this 55+ community’s clubhouse is situated so that residents can take advantage of New Mexico’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Embracing a resort-living philosophy, this amenity building creates a social hub for the community’s residents to gather for any number of activities. The clubhouse’s modern architectural geometries give new life to Albuquerque’s typical character; dramatic, sloping, rusted-color roof elements stretch toward the Sandia Mountains; and interior spaces feature large spans of glazing and nano-type doors, connecting indoor to outdoor visually and physically. The interior program portrays classic, smooth plaster elements juxtaposed with natural stones, metals, and woods, layered with a saturated palette of blues, oranges and reds.
