Curvy Home Project

Matched with a client who loves the desert, the firm was inspired by the curvy architecture of this home, which is carved into the side of a mountain. It had stunning bones with a great room that felt like a gallery, but it felt very dark and heavy. With the new design, the home had a new spirit that allowed it to breathe. The client’s bright and eclectic artwork became a prominent design element throughout each space, so the design team matched this personality with eye-catching finishes and shapes. Awkward spaces were turned into design opportunities.

In the kitchen, a focal point was created with a custom-designed island that stands out like a unique piece of furniture. Custom-designed night stands in the owners’ suite wrap around the existing walls and bring the detailed curves out with an applied plaster treatment. One of the best elements: The existing wood tones of the interior doors and cantera pillars were remodeled to look modern and stand out in the completed design.
