Cherry Hills Village Residence

This home is the culmination of seven years of work and as many design iterations. The home owners are world travelers who reside mainly in Las Vegas, but have family in Denver they often visit. Because this wasn’t their primary residence, there was no sense of urgency other than getting the design just right.

Since the home owners always travel with an entourage, the home is designed around many people coming and going, and the primary suite is a welcome retreat. Special focus was put on the suite, which features an office, spacious walk-in closet, work-out room, his-and-hers baths, and a private patio. The patio is unique in its placement on the second level, in the front of the home. This was done to take advantage of sunsets and peek-a-boo views (the home is on an infill lot in a built-out subdivision, so view opportunities were limited). Accustomed to the desert sun of Las Vegas, the clients requested the porte-cochère be sized for four cars to park comfortably underneath, shaded from the elements. The clients gravitated toward contemporary architecture with sloping roofs and a slightly disorganized feel, which contrasts perfectly with clean materials and clean lines throughout the home.
