This desert contemporary is a how-to in spending design/construction dollars efficiently. Movement and color create interest and drama at the elevation. The rest of the plan aligns spaces in a cost-effective manner that still manages to deliver the living areas buyers want in this established master plan. Highlights include windows that wrap the great room and kitchen to visually expand the space; sliding doors add abundant light and connect the indoor and outdoor kitchen areas. The master suite is tucked away from the interior social spaces and secondary bedrooms.

Judges praised the home’s floorplan and noted its good interior zoning. They liked how the kitchen opens to the patio, the privacy given to the bedrooms, and the home office. They also applauded the quality of the finishes for the scale of the home.
