Island Paradise

The clients wanted a luxurious kitchen filled with high-end appliances, storage, and an open floor plan that would enable them to entertain in comfort and style. The client was involved in every detail, down to the custom electrical face plates. The team faced many challenges in building the new space; a powerful venting system in the hood had to be recessed into the ceiling and vented outside. The removal of the wall from the living room required a recessed beam. Several modifications to the framing, plumbing, and electrical systems were needed during demolition.

An array of appliances for entertaining and more storage space were needed, though the actual footprint of the kitchen didn’t increase. The 16-foot island, topped with leathered Fantasy Brown granite, peninsula, and dry bar created additional banks of cabinets to meet those needs. The island also includes an integrated microwave, warming drawer, freezer drawers, and mixer cabinet.
