Designing exteriors with multiple materials can make for beautiful homes that reflect the surrounding landscape.
A building’s exterior should flow gracefully, using complementary colors, textures and shapes–like a painting, especially when several materials are used together.
For example, one could blend real stone, Adirondack granite, cedar shakes, high-end vinyl and other materials and create a palette, even though each section is distinctive.
