Landa Park Retreat
New Braunfels, Texas
Architect/Designer | Craig McMahon Architects
Builder | Johnny Canavan
This addition is located on the crystal clear spring waters of Landa Park in New Braunfels Texas, offering a new connection to the original 1950s-era, two-story river home. As the existing home encompassed the river view, the available land in the front of the property offered needed expansion room for extra bedrooms and baths. The owners requested that the new addition create a “front door” to the site, allowing for privacy for the main home as well as the necessary expansion space, but also connecting with the original home without detracting from it. Because zoning ordinances typically require detached additions to be located in the back or side of the main structure, a unique attached design was considered with careful attention to how the two structures would integrate.
