Spaces to Gather: Regency at Montaine Clubhouse

The Regency at Montaine Clubhouse was carefully crafted to utilize and create an asset out of its biggest challenge: topography. The resulting walkout design nestles the club into the hillside, maximizes views, and creates an iconic campus overlooking the mountains.

The team overcame hurdles of fitting enough parking, programming space for tennis and pickleball, and connecting upper-level outdoor living with the walkout event lawn and pool in an accessible and beautiful way. The design team thoughtfully unified architecture and landscape architecture elements, integrating the clubhouse with nature while maintaining mobility across the entire site.

The upper floor serves as the social hub with multiple event rooms, flex meeting rooms and a catering kitchen. The lower level hosts the pool and fitness components, and boasts a hanger door that connects the movement studio with the yoga lawn.

The open-air pavilion provides a great outdoor venue space for special events, and the pool bath and mechanical building serves as a jewel piece that anchors the lower level, reminiscent of the original barn on the farm.

Judges’ Comments | The low-maintenance landscaping works great with the topography. The poolside is elegant. And the fitness room feels warm, with an interesting flooring touch.
