Home of the Week: GREENLAB

GREENLAB was created to reach and educate individuals, developers, and companies across multiple project types, including residential, multifamily, and senior living communities. As a LEED Platinum custom home, GREENLAB displays, demonstrates, and provides education in sustainable and accessible architecture, design, energy and water efficiency, as well as construction techniques, tools, and products.

GREENLAB simultaneously promotes the burgeoning concept of aging in place, infused with a transitional, biophilic style meshing modern, French-inspired, and natural elements that redefine and elevate the idea of green living for all age and abilities. Dramatic, vaulted ceilings in the living room and double-height kitchen feature wood planks and contrasting exposed beams salvaged from the lot’s previous home. Circadian rhythm LED lighting and large windows with natural daylighting optimize passive solar orientation and shading techniques that contribute to integrated energy efficiency measures. By thinking innovatively and holistically, GREENLAB aspires to create a ripple effect of positive change in the development and construction industry.
