Architect/Designer | NBWW
Builder | Suffolk Construction
Developer | ZOM Living
Land Planner | Architectural Alliance Landscape

Design Statement | Located on an archaeologically significant site, Muze was constructed atop a podium superstructure through acquisition of air rights only and no fee-simple real estate. The podium contains a six-level vertical movie theater and 20,000 sf of restaurant space.

The entitlements were completed with extensive private and public coordination, showcasing native American heritage formally on the site in two ground-floor museum spaces, an outdoor plaza, and historic Miami River elements designed into the Muze lobby. A generous crawl space exists underneath the ground floor to allow for future archaeological work.  With the theater below, Muze has no on-site parking and instead provides residents with an all-hours valet that houses the vehicles in adjacent garage. An expansive pool and deck above the movie theater required a state-of- the-art waterproofing program.

Judges’ Comments | The judges commented on the exterior, which they called “very Miami.” They praised the creative amenities, noting the pet spa, the pool, the sauna, and steam room.
