Boca Raton’s local planning policy encouraged a move toward contemporary architecture and nontraditional planning, which was originally a challenge for this Best in American Living Awards Gold winner for Attached Townhomes Built for Sale.
But the changes actually led to the project becoming a focal point in the city.
Glass throughout the units creates open spaces, and second-floor living creates additional privacy for the units, especially along the main roads and yards.
The entry connects to the common pool area, which is flanked by rear-loading townhomes.
Hardscaping blends with the building color palettes, creating a warm tropical backdrop, and simulated wood veneer adds a distinctive feel.
BALA judges called the project, “Strong; bold; simplicity to it; creates space within space; gateways in a very modern way; so powerful in its purity; sort of plays off the Kahn Institute.”
