Submit a Recipe for “Building More Appetites”

Because the first edition was such a success, a second cookbook is in the works: “Building More Appetites,” and we need your help! Whip up your favorite recipe, take some pictures of it, and submit your work on nahb.org. The deadline for submissions is summer, 2018.

The “Building an Appetite” cookbook series was inspired by Doug Wistner, son of NAHB Immediate Past Chairman Granger MacDonald and his wife Kathy. Doug was a passionate cook who passed away unexpectedly in January, 2015.

To honor Doug’s memory, the MacDonald family partnered with NAHB to create a cookbook series called “Building an Appetite.” The first cookbook was a compilation of recipes submitted by Federation members and their families as well as NAHB staff. All sales proceeds have gone to support the National Housing Endowment/NAHB Doug Wistner Scholarship Fund. The goal of this fund is to provide scholarships to deserving college students who are studying housing policy and advocacy.

As with the first edition, “Building More Appetites” will be a compilation of recipes submitted by members, their families and staff. Sales proceeds will continue to support the National Housing Endowment/NAHB Doug Wistner Scholarship Fund.

“Building More Appetites” will be available for purchase at future NAHB meetings and online.
