Home of the Week: Waterleaf

Our Home of the Week, Waterleaf of Grand Rapids, Mich., received judges comments like “wood done well” when it won a Best in American Living Silver Award for One-of-a-Kind Custom Home (4,501-6000 square feet).

Every exterior element of Waterleaf is purposefully natural—from the wood doors, to the cedar shake siding, to the copper accoutrements.

Waterleaf was mindfully designed to age in place and appear as long-standing in its environment, despite the expense required to achieve that undeniable feel.

The home is nestled in the land to take advantage of the natural setting and capture the stunning view of the lake and mature woodlands.

Gently arched exterior doors, windows, and beams inspire the home’s curvy interior, from the impressive great room ceiling beams, to the cozy kitchen dining nook.

Waterleaf serves as the owners’ final home, with zero step features and main-floor living; however, additional living space easily accommodates visiting family and friends.
