The urban loft concept not only relates to the student tenants of the nearby schools, but also the local residents, by maintaining the warehouse aesthetic and consistent massing of the neighborhood. AMLI Lofts at 800 South Clark Street consists of two 11-story apartment buildings which have 199 apartment units in each building. Parking is located in two parking structures, designed as freestanding, keeping costs down in the overall scheme of the project, and enclosed on the ground floor of each of the buildings. The site arrangement allows for ease of drop off for residents and guests, unheard of in downtown Chicago.

AMLI’s prime location is steps from The Loop and the Central Business District, and even closer to educational institutions such as Columbia College, DePaul University, Roosevelt University and Harold Washington Public Library. The two-building design lends itself to the formation of a huge common amenity space and court, connected by a transparent link with cyber café, creating a gathering space for area students. The design of the 5,000 square feet of ground floor retail is consistent with the retail shops along Clark Street. Additional amenities include an outdoor lounge with banquette seating, TVs, kitchen, built-in grills, a fire pit and lush landscaping, a fitness center with private yoga studio, a resident lounge with kitchen and fireplace, business center, conference center and two coffee bars.

AMLI Lofts is a LEED Silver & ENERGY STAR® Certified community offering many environmentally-friendly features as a Breatheasy® smoke-free community and by utilizing water-efficient plumbing fixtures and healthy building materials.

The units offer convertibles as well as one and two-bedroom floor plans with soft loft contemporary interiors. The units feature exposed concrete and spiral ductwork, quartz countertops, stainless steel ENERGYSTAR® Certified appliances, full-size stackable washers and dryers, wood flooring, ten-foot ceilings, and awesome city views.
