This vibrant community center acts as both a casual place to gather and a formal event space, and was chosen as the BALA 2015 Platinum winner for Community Facility. Previously an old horse barn on Foxcatcher Farm Estate, the design recaptures the historic sense of the building while adding modern amenities and providing a visually powerful focal point.
The architect payed homage to and restored the historic materials and features of the building to the greatest extent possible while opening up the space to accommodate modern functions. It serves as a meeting place for residents of the development but also reasserts itself as a significant piece of local history. They have created not only a community facility but also a welcoming landscape composed of English-style gardens and patio space used for hosting of events.
